Expert in Hysteroscopy
Expert Obstetrician and Gynecologist, specialist in Maternity, Infertility and laparoscopic Surgeries.
Hysteroscopy is a procedure that allows your doctor to look inside your uterus in order to diagnose and treat causes of abnormal bleeding. It can be used to both diagnose and treat causes of abnormal bleeding.
It's carried out using a hysteroscope, which is a narrow telescope with a light and camera at the end. The doctor will dilate (widen) your cervix to allow the hysteroscope to be inserted.
The hysteroscope is inserted through your vagina and cervix into the uterus. Next, a light shone through the hysteroscope allows your doctor to see your uterus and the openings of the fallopian tubes into the uterine cavity.
Images are sent to a monitor so that your womb can be seen. The hysteroscope is passed into your womb through your vagina and cervix (entrance to the womb), which means no cuts need to be made on your skin.
- A hysteroscopy can be done for the following reasons-
- Investigate symptoms or problems – such as heavy periods, unusual vaginal bleeding, postmenopausal bleeding, pelvic pain, repeated miscarriages or difficulty getting pregnant
- Diagnose conditions – such as fibroids and polyps (non-cancerous growths in the womb)
- Treat conditions and problems – such as removing fibroids, polyps, displaced intrauterine devices (IUDs) and intrauterine adhesions (scar tissue that causes absent periods and reduced fertility).
Sai Krupa Ramadevi Hospital has equipped with required medical equipment and the facilities to to conduct such procedures, Dr. J. R. Ramadevi is a skillful doctor and conducted this procedure on various patients and have successfully treated their conditions.
